Heaven must have one Heck of a band

Good day, ladies and gentlemen. It's fairly early on a Saturday morning and I woke up with a song in my head. The song has me thinking about musicians and singers who are no longer with us. There have been so many great singers, musicians, song writers, etc. who have left a void when they passed over that I wonder if they meet up somewhere to jam on the other side. Sometimes, like today, I imagine what those jam sessions must sound like. I'd like to share my ideas of just one combination that could be put together using artists taken from us too soon and then invite you to put together your very own band of angels. So without further fanfare, here is my All-Afterlife Super Group:

Front man/lead singer: Jim Morrison
Guitars(sharing lead and rhythm) Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix
Drums: John Bonham
Bass: John Entwistle
Keyboard/Piano: John Lennon

Jim Morrison - The ultimate larger than life Rock star. Oozing sexuality, and a fantastic singing voice with great range. There is no heroin or acid in the Afterlife so keeping him in line (and out of jail) will be much easier for this band than it was for The Doors.

Stevie and Jimi - Innovation, technique, soul, and speed. In the afterlife there are no egos and they can share the lead duties easily. Just imagine the warm-up sessions when these guys get together, each feeding off the other.

John Bonham - The backbone of Led Zeppilin. His death brought about the end of arguably the greatest musical collaboration of our time. 'Nuf said.

John Entwistle - A one man rhythm section. Helped name Led Zeppilin according to legend. That, in itself, makes him stand out.

John Lennon - Co-founder and leader of The Beatles. I admit keyboard/piano may not be his greatest claim to fame but his vision and song writing skills make him hard to leave out of this project, so I left this spot just for him.

I welcome your comments about my choices and invite you to post your own. There are no rules other than the members of your band all have to be dead.

Thanks for playing.
